LAKE GENEVA - When a veteran passes away, an honor guard presents the colors, sounds “Taps” and fires a 21-gun salute. While this pagaentry is a courtesy to the family, of the deceased, it still costs money to provide the service. There is currently a shortage in funding, for this program.
“Every veteran has the right to the dignity of this service. Unfortunately the cost is prohibiting this from being done all the time for everyone,” says U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Lisa Amburgey of Delavan who is a member of the Civil Air Patrol..
