Bank and police officers help elderly woman escape a scam

Bank and police officers help elderly woman escape a scam

On July 15 at 12:30 p.m., the M&I Bank located at the Packard Plaza notified the police department when an elderly female attempted to withdraw a large sum of money. She stated it was for her son who was suppose to meet her at the plaza. Bank employees alerted the police because they expected it to be a scam. A Cudahy officer followed up with the elderly woman and the attempted scam was unsuccessful. No one was hurt.

The above incident is an example of community awareness.  The members of the bank and the diligence of the Cudahy Police Department helped an elderly woman avoid being defrauded a large amount of money.

No arrests have been made at this time.  Everyone is encouraged to report suspicious activity to the Cudahy Police Department, 769-2260, ext 8080.

Old World Wisconsin one-year-later appreciation event was held June 11

Old World Wisconsin one-year-later appreciation event was held June 11

Old World Wisconsin hosted a one-year-later appreciation event on June 11, which marked the forward progress the historic site has made. On June 21, 2010 a tornado ripped through their site, knocked down about 3,000 trees and forced the closure of the site temporally,

"We were delighted by the response to this event,” Old World Wisconsin Director Dawn St. George said. “Our staff and volunteers were energized to make this a celebration of resilience and a successful season.  It was a challenge to be closed for almost five weeks during the heart of our 2010 visitation season, which made this day all the sweeter."
